And now Chuck Asay has gotten into the “the government is is making us pay for other people’s birth control” nonsense. As WTF Political Cartoons has been consistently pointing out (while I’ve been focusing just on the character assassination of Ms. Fluke), the question is not the government using taxpayer dollars to pay for anyone’s birth control, it’s the government requiring insurers to provide birth control.
What does it say that just about every conservative commentator weighing in on this issue gets that one fundamental fact wrong?
Asay keeps on suckin’. First just riding the coattails of the repeatedly debunked Limbaugh version of the story, then simplifying the trespass on ~145million American women’s rights to one person, and then equating Santorum’s puritan bigotry to tried and tested responsible family planning.
