Actually, the economy is at a bit of a plateau at the moment. And there’s a lot more to “the economy” than the policies of the POTUS. The financial institutions all over are shaking due to a historically dramatic crash in 2008. The whole crisis is the chickens coming to roost from 30 years of market neo-liberalism*, as we finally begin to understand that the consept of “unlimited growth” is at its very core unstainable and impossible.
But you know, drawing Uncle Sam as hysteric, unaware of the reality of the situation, and with unrealistically high expectations from the office of President of their own country, is accidentally A Good Cartoon.
*which has nothing to do with the American label of “liberal”, Liiberal here means liberarian economic policy, though admittedly neither of the two parties did much to regulate it, GOOP just did even less.

Expansion of marital rights is good for business. Or maybe the attorney would just like a break from all those straight divorces. A good cartoon.

I don’t get the “gay divorce” meme. Truth is, of course if marriage rights are extended outiside the cis-heteronorm, some of these newly empowered couples will end up divorcing. But they’ll be a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things.

agoodcartoon:

The conservative reaction to growing acceptance of gay marriage is typified by Fred Sanford, whose running gag was to fake a heart attack when things were not going his way.
A good cartoon.

Black support of marriage equality is only marginally smaller than white support, and with NAACP and many public figures publicly following Obama, it’s a mark of changing winds.
Also, who holds a newspaper like that, anyway?

I’d label Sisyphus “Greece” and the boulder as “Austerity”, and then it would be A Good Cartoon™
Yeah, the Greek situation seems to just fall back down periodically, but that’s because the Austerity doesn’t just cut junk spending; it also cuts necessary spending that creates any foundation for economic recovery.
