No, the shocking thing is, that Israel kills in one day, more people than what Palestinians kill in three years. And that the media still reports it like this.

1. A few thousand votes would not actually swing the elections.

2. There’s a lot more cases of soldiers getting exemptions to election rules than their votes being supressed.

3. America’s military hasn’t fought an enemy to US democracy since they fought their last war against the British Empire.

4. Fuck you, Ramirez

Here’s on of those odd things about political discussion worldwide, that I’ve noticed.

There’s this odd idea that economics are the only real politics. That everything else is secondary, depite the fact that politics touches on all parts of life. And in the economics, everyone just kinda assumes that “cut all of the things” is responsible policy, because it creates short term results, and because apparently the rich becoming richer, and the poor getting poorer means prosperity.

As for demagoguery, escuse me while I go laugh my ass off. Beeler et. co. can call for civil discourse after Ramirez stops making, and apologizes for shit like this.

Now pardon my European ignorance, but I generally assume that politicians already in power have plans for the future. And that “A Budget” seems like shorthand for “something has to be done, this is something, so let’s do it”.

Most medicine today is in pill form, not liquids, so I assume what Ramirez here means is that Ryan is a Snake Oil peddler. A Good Cartoon.

So, instead of contributing to a society that looks after the elderly and disenfranchized now, and will look after you if something happens unexpectedly, and counting on the same system being in place further down the road, you instead opt to:

Keeping your money in a stash that contributes nothing to society or business, at least until you get to that one lst week before a payday when you really need cash, and then the next one and next one, and soon you’ve blown your savings away.

Also, if that money is “not going to Washington”, isn’t this technically tax evasion, and thus, a crime?

Also, Gary might be surprised to find, there’s still plenty of people who are very ardent Madonna fans. She does not send people fleeing in disgust by the crowds.

To date (August 14 2012), the officially recognized tally of victims in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is 7978 dead palestinains, of which 1620 under the age of 18, and 1503 dead Israelis, of which 142 under the age of 18.

Notice how Israel has killed more Palestinian children (and this is not counting casualties in Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and other places Israel has invited themselves to attack) than Palestinains have killed Israelis, total.

I do wonder waht planet Arend Van Dam lives in. It’s apparently a really nice place, where IDF is extra-polite and not at all jackbooted thugs against the Palestinians.

Nowhere in history has an occupying military force ever abused its power, nor just generally made the lives of people under occupation hell in small everyday microagressions. Nope, the IDF are like the boy scouts!
