Now pardon my European ignorance, but I generally assume that politicians already in power have plans for the future. And that “A Budget” seems like shorthand for “something has to be done, this is something, so let’s do it”.

Funny, because the Obama administration actually allocated more money to NASA than the Bush administration. Not by that much, but still.

Also, the purpose of the mission wasn’t to look for signs of life, but you know, lets not get that in the way fo a tired cliche* and pointless zinger.

*seriously tho, just you wait the next time there’s anything in the news about space, everyone will be making “intelligent life” jokes. They do not improve by repetition. Just. Stop.

Because you know, it would be extremely easy for one person armed with a big rock to kill twelve people and injure fifty-eight others.

Because a naturally occuring heavy object is directly comparable to tailor-made tools of murder that can shoot lead slugs several times the speed of sound.

Reagan freely ignored the fact that some people have genuine physical and social barriers to success while others get the easy path by being born into money and privilege, while Obama is saying in simple word what is true, no-one gets rich in a vaccuum, your success is dependant on the other people who make it possible.

So… an accidentally good cartoon?

Yeah, you know, except for a majority of Americans, but most of them are city folk, POC and other people who don’t count as proper Americans in the conservative world.

I agree on the first two panels. I said on my personal blog, that both distinctions are highly presumptious, and the second one will look as foolish as the first one eventually.

I almost choked when I read this.

First of all, the person who said Ann Romney “hadn’t worked a day in her life” was Hilary Rosen, another woman, and she apologized for the comment the very next day.

The republicans have, on federal and state level, been attacking women’s reproductive freedoms and privacy. Vaginal probes before abortion is apparently a less of an attack than one person commenting about the president’s wife not having work experience?

And you know, yeah, you shouldn’t underestimate domestic work, but I’m gonna go on a limb, and say the wife of a rich politician is probably not doing all of the work herself.
